M 863 / 6487 – Resistance Meter (For Material Development & Evaluation)

Overview:

The M 863 / 6487 Laboratory Resistance Meter is capable of measuring current from 20fa to 20ma and resistance from 50 Ω to 10E15 Ω. Source voltages can be manually selected from 0.2mV to 505V Specific voltages can be programmed as a default.

The feedback circuit design reduces voltage burden to 200mV which makes the instrument function like and ideal ammeter. This enables it to make highly accurate current measurements, even in circuits with very low source voltages.

The meter features a 1-touch front panel design where functions can be configured easily with the push of a button without complicated function menus. The instrument is programmed by ETS to measure resistance using default votage setting of 10 and 100V to meet resistance standards for ESD-Safe material. A 6″6″ (2m) triax cable assembly is configured for the ETS Series 800 Resistance/ Resistivity Probes and probes equipped with standard banana jacks. A resistance measurement specific manual is also provide.

IEEE-488 and RS-232 interfaces enable the instrument to be integrated into automated test and measurement systems. The included Excel LINX add-in utility for Microsoft Excel enables data to be acquired directly without programming and then employ Excel”s graphics, charting and analysis capability to turn the data into useable processed information.

Available as an option is an instrument driver for use with Application Development Environments such as LabVIEW, Labwindows/CVI, Visual Basic, C/CH and Test Point.
