Preventing Fires in Paint Booths Caused by Static
Electrostatic discharge is a constant challenge in the painting industry. Flammable paints are a fire and explosion hazard and static is a constant issue with attracting dust and unwanted particles resulting in blemishes in paint finishes. New ESD Safe materials continue to be developed and shown promise for further protecting against flammable paints that are commonly used. Similar to standards and test methods for ESD flooring and worksurface requirements, these standards can be applied to testing new materials to address this safety and quality issue.
